The Lego Company History

The Seglar company opened in 1932 when Danish carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen started making playthings for a living. He fought to make payments in the absolute depths of the 1930s, but the little prototypes he previously made of items like ironing boards and ladders had great potential while children’s toys. He named the company Seglar after two Danish ideas, leg and godt, meaning “play very well. ”

In 1958, he created the iconic seglar brick with pipes inside which makes it interlock with other lego parts. This ground-breaking innovation totally changed the company and allowed this to develop at an unbelievable pace.

By the 1960s, Profano had enhanced its international reach and began generating toys within license in North America through an arrangement with luggage maker Samsonite. The company also begun selling collections with all the portions needed to build a specific model, and introduced devoted themes which include Space (with astronaut minifigures), Castle, Village (later renamed Lego City), and FabuLand.

In the 1970s, Lego took a dramatic step forward using its introduction of Lego numbers that possessed movable arms and legs. The company as well began applying more cheap and producing larger blocks for younger children, a sections called Duplo. In the 1980s, Lego’s product sales grew at a remarkable rate of ten percent each year, despite overall model industry sales growth reducing.

Today, Lego is a considerable global company with revenues of above $5. almost eight billion and one of the most coveted brands in the world, ranking best on Manufacturer Finance’s ‘Most Powerful Brand’ list in 2015. But it still seems less just like a ruthlessly business giant and even more like an ancient family good friend.
